About MyddleTON ROAD

In a world of chain stores and 'clone-town' high-streets, places like Myddleton Road were supposed to have died out long ago.

But hidden away in the heart of Bowes Park, North London, a true community high street of independent traders still exists.

Myddleton Road had its heyday in the Victorian era. Photos of the street at this time are still proudly displayed in businesses up and down its length.

The road has had highs and lows aplenty since then. But throughout, Myddleton Road has stood out for its small, privately-owned businesses who know each other and their customers by name.

And since the 1970s, Myddleton Road has been a home-from-home for North London's Cypriot community, giving the street a unique character and warmth.

It is a place of real people, of fortunes and failures, friendships and feuds.

In December 2016, Myddleton Road won the London category of the Great British High Street Competition.

So, come. Visit the glorious and entertaining community that is Myddleton Road.
